Carlos Orozco

Carlos is extensively involved in the racing community with his current focus in the pit support aspect. He started his racing career in a 5/1600 desert race car back in 1984 when about a year later he started an organization called Baja Pits. Baja Pits is a pay for service pit organization providing a way for smaller teams that do not have the manpower to stand up all the pits needed in a long desert race. Through Carlos’s time as not only a racer but Baja Pits he has built a large support network in the desert racing world in Baja and southwestern United States. With this network and work he was successful in being awarded the 2022 SCORE Pit Support Team of the Year for the 4th time. Carlos is also a 30 year retiree from the Ford Motor Credit Company, a husband, and father of three. But before all of this he was an Army veteran having served in Viet Nam. Which leads to why he wants to be involved with V.E.T.T.S. Motorsports as a board member working hands on with helping fellow veterans in the racing community.

“First of all I am a vet and second I have a passion for helping people in the offroad community. That's why I want to work with VETTS Motorsports.” - Carlos Orozco

With Carlos being on the board he is able to provide the nonprofit with guidance and mentorship of pit planning and logistics. Along with using his network and organization to help provide resources for fellow veterans to be able to compete in the longer desert races.
